The classic tree of the British countryside, oak is probably the second most common tree at Burnham Beeches. The oldest tree in Burnham Beeches is Druids Oak which is over 800 years old – that means it has survived the reigns of 36 different Kings and Queens of England, right back to King John! As well as being an important source of timber, oak supports more wildlife than any other native British tree.
